There are two types of powerful testimonies—salvation testimony and ministry testimony.
When a person is saved and baptized, there is great power in their testimonies that can deeply move others. Salvation testimonies explain how you were before accepting Jesus, the process of how you came to accept him, and how you are changed in the present as a result. Testimonies need to be detailed and do well with specific examples. For instance, use examples to explain how you lived before Jesus and what kind of peace that you experienced after accepting him. Also, it helps to specifically explain how you came to receive Jesus, especially to those who have not yet received him.
Ministry testimony is also very helpful and powerful. The types of ministry testimony include mokjang, testimony, evangelizing, and missions. When providing a ministry testimony, the content should be based on Matthew 6:33 –
- "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."
With this verse in mind, testimonies serve to declare and illustrate in detail how you put God’s kingdom and His righteousness first, that God truly meets all your needs, and when obeying God, how God fills all your physical and spiritual needs.
Praying that God will continue to give many more testimonies to Grace Community Church (partly from the House Church ministries site)
